Have Swathi Thirunal and Deekshithar ever met ? (new)
Dikshthar and Swathi Thirunal : Have they met?
Have Swathi Thirunal & Muthuswami Deekshithar ever met? There are no historical records to answer this. But, the popular belief is that Deekshithar has met Swathi in Thiruvananthapuram and the inconclusive proof is the existence of a Deekshithar Kriti on Sree Padmanabha Swamy temple at Thiruvananthapuram.

[There are also Deekshithar kritis on other Kerala deities: Sree Krishnam – Thodi : Guruvayoor, Hariharaputhram – Vasantha – Sabarimala, Rakthaganapthim : Mohanam : unidentified Ganapathi Temple in Kerala].
Here is the account given by Sri.C.V. Vadhyar:
The popular belief is that during the closing years of his life. Deekshithar, after his trip to Ettiyapuram desired to meet his disciples Vadivelu, the famous violinist and his brother, who were in the court of Swathi Thirunal . Deekshthar was received as a guest of Swathi Thirunal. The saint was the adored guest of Sri Swathi Thirunal. Vadivelu and his brother took Deekshithar around the Sree Padmanabha Swamy Temple, and gave a full fledged description of the deity. Sri Muthuswamy Dikshidar sat on the monolith Mandapam in front of the deity and sang the famous keerthanam in Madhyamaavathy ragam, with the pallavi-‘Pannaga Sayana’ . In the Charana, there is reference to an important aspect of the deity, the Palpayasa Nivedyam, which is the highly relished offering of the Lord Padmanabha, offered every morning even today. There is also the reference of Narasimha and Sree Krishna in the Krithy.
